Terms & Conditions

Vlynq is a marketplace in India with two parts: commissioned jobs, where a client hires a local videographer for a shoot, and a stock footage library, where creators license clips they have already filmed. Using Vlynq means you accept these terms.

• The client offers the job to one creator. The creator has 48 hours to accept or decline; declining costs nothing.
• Once the creator accepts, the client has 48 hours to pay. Unpaid, the job reopens and nothing is charged.
• The payment is held by Vlynq. The creator is not paid until the work is accepted.
• After delivery the client accepts it, or asks for a revision — up to 2. If the client does neither, the payment is released to the creator 7 days after delivery.

What cancelling costs at each stage is set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Vlynq does not arbitrate disputes between clients and creators; revisions and the 7-day release are how a job is settled.

Commissioned job15% of the job value

On a ₹50,000 job the creator receives ₹40,900, after the commission, 18% GST on the commission, and 0.5% TCS.

Stock clip40% of the price before tax

On a ₹499 sale the creator receives ₹253.73.

• The exact split for a job is shown before it is offered; a clip’s earnings are shown when it is priced.
• Creators are paid automatically to the bank account in Settings → Payouts, through Razorpay. Stock earnings become payable 7 days after the sale.
• Prices of stock clips include GST. The tax that applies to you is shown at checkout and on your invoice or receipt.

Clients

• Describe the shoot accurately — place, framing, resolution and deadline.
• Pay within 48 hours of the creator accepting, and review the delivery.

Creators

• Film what the brief asks for, by the agreed date, at the agreed quality.
• Hold the rights to what you upload, and the model or property releases commercial use needs — without them a clip is listed as editorial only.
• Keep payments on Vlynq. Asking to be paid directly is grounds for suspension.

Stock footage: Vlynq licenses each clip to buyers under the Vlynq Standard Licence — non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, commercially or for editorial use only where the listing says so. The creator keeps the copyright and licenses the clip to Vlynq under the Creator Agreement. Clips marked free carry the same licence.

These terms are agreed between the client and the creator — the client when posting a request, the creator when applying. Vlynq holds the payment and the files but is not a party to them.

• The creator first owns everything filmed for the job. This is the agreement to the contrary under section 17(b) of the Copyright Act 1957.
• The delivered files become the client's when the payment is released — on acceptance, or automatically 7 days after delivery. The creator assigns all copyright in them to the client, worldwide and for the full term of copyright, for the fee already paid. The assignment does not lapse for not being used.
• Footage not delivered stays the creator's. It may be listed as stock 90 days after the payment is released, but never showing the client's people, products, logos, premises or vehicles, anything the brief marked confidential, or anything that substantially reproduces the delivered files.
• Exclusive requests: nothing filmed for them may ever become stock. Confidential requests: no portfolio use, and nothing from them shown publicly. Both are chosen when the request is posted, shown to creators before they apply, and fixed once anyone applies.
• Otherwise the creator may show short excerpts of the delivered files in a personal portfolio.
• If a job is cancelled before the payment is released, no rights pass to the client, and the creator owns everything filmed — still subject to the limits on what may become stock.
• The creator obtains any model or property releases the brief requires and hands copies to the client with the delivery.

Footage is published without review, so anyone signed in can report a clip or a person, and Vlynq acts on what is reported.

• A clip reported for sexual content or for exposing someone’s private information is hidden at once while we look at it. Any other clip is hidden once several people report it. People who already bought a hidden clip keep it.
• We may take a clip down. It leaves the marketplace and can no longer be downloaded, but licences already sold stay valid — unless it was taken down for a rights problem and we ask the buyer to remove it, in which case the licence fee is refunded (Standard Licence, clause 9).
• We may warn or suspend an account. A suspended account cannot sign in, and its footage, profile and open requests are hidden. Money already owed to it is still paid out, and a job it is being paid for is finished first.
• Whoever is affected is told why by email. To appeal, reply to that email or write to us; a decision we got wrong is reversed.
• Vlynq does not read your conversations. If you report someone, we see only what you write in the report.

Vlynq is based in Delhi. GST, and TCS under section 52 of the CGST Act where it applies, are calculated as the law requires and shown on each checkout, invoice and payout. Whether Vlynq is registered for GST is printed on every invoice it issues.
